Hi everyone, I’m Ruby and today I am going to try and persuade you that Children At Primary Schools Should/Shouldn't Get Paid For Getting Good Grades. Here are my 2 main reasons

I hope I can persuade you!

Kids should get paid because they’ll need it when they're older. They would get better grades and their parents will be happy with them! But there is one problem. Where would the money come from?  Teachers? No, they had to they have to pay to keep their families well. School? They probably could. They had to keep the school running, too. I wonder if our parents could? Well, if they had enough money they could. If they didn’t… probably not. 

What about the amounts? Some kids would get tiny bits and some could huge bits. Well, there could be different amounts for different grades like: $5 - C Grade, $10 - B Grade, $20 - A Grade and $25 - A+ Grade. Hopefully, that would encourage more kids. Korimako Camp 2019! Year 5-6 Go To Living Springs Camp!

On Wednesday 20th Febuary Korimako

Fried Frog/s (Stuffed with veggies, meat and sugar)

Fried Frog/s (Stuffed with veggies, meat
and sugar)

Enough to feed a pair of snakes.

Ingredients

• 2 frogs (large)
• 14 chopped carrots
• 8 burnt pickles
• 40 sugar cubes (optional)
• 16 roasted zucchinis

Equipment

• 2 saucepans
• Rubber gloves
• All the ingredients
• A BBQ or stove
• 2 Serving plates
• A sharp knife

Method

1. Get the 2 frogs and split them open with the sharp knife

2. Put the rubber gloves on and pull all the guts out

4. Next, add the chopped carrots, burnt pickles, roasted

zucchinis and sugar cubes (optional) into the frogs

4. Then, get the BBQ or stove and carefully place the stuffed

frogs on the BBQ or saucepans, until cooked

5. Flip the frogs over, gently, until cooked on both sides

6. Now place the frogs on the 2 serving plates

You don’t want to miss out the side dishes!

For the side dishes:

• 21 sizzled pork sausages
• 2 wads of gum
• Some freshmint mentos
• A spicy pepper
• 3 burnt potatoes

Place these on the side of the plate.

Ostrich Breeding And Hatching

Ostriches normally mate for life, and they share the task of incubating the eggs. Ostriches form bisexual groups with a complex structure. Territorial males compete for flocks of 3 to 5 hens. Mating includes elaborate displays of hisses and dancing. Once divided into mating groups, ostriches in some areas use communal nests to hold anywhere from 14 to 60 eggs. The nest is a hole scraped in bare ground about 1 to 2 feet deep. The average egg is 6 inches in length, 5 inches in width, weighs about 3 pounds, and is shiny and whitish in color. Eggs take approximately 35 - 40 days to hatch.The male, which has mostly black feathers, sits on the eggs at night, the drab, brown female who lays up to 20 eggs, covers them during the day. In this way, the nest is much harder to see. If threatened while sitting on the nest, which is simply a cavity scooped in the earth, the hen presses her long neck flat along the ground, blending with the background. Ostriches, contrary to popular belief, do not bury their heads in the sand. Once the young ones hatch, it is usually the male ostrich which looks after the chick until they are old enough to fend for themselves.

Kia ora, my name is Ruby. 

I am 9 years old, 10 this year. I am a year 5 at Marshland School. My teacher’s are Miss Raynel, Miss Roberts, Mr Sutherland, Mrs Palmer & Karen (she’s a part-time teacher). My friends are Olivia, Catherine, Rosara and Tayla B.

 I have 1 sister and 1 brother. My sister, Amelie, is 6, 7 this year, and my brother, Isaiah, is 4, 5 this year but going school next year. My cat’s name’s are Twinkle (It’s a boy, but Isaiah named him!!) & Boo Cat (she’s a Tabby.)

 My favourite foods are: sausages, hot dogs, sushi and pickled onions. My favourite game/board game to play is Monopoly. My favourite sport is biking. Tena koutou, tena koutou, tena koutou katoa.
